Janani Ganesh
Janani Ganesh is a behavioral neuroscience major with a public health minor at Northeastern University’s Honors College, driven by a passion for leveraging her academic knowledge to create positive change in underserved communities, particularly in regions impacted by conflict and lacking basic medical necessities. Alongside her academic pursuits, Janani has been deeply involved in cultural and community initiatives. As an Indian Raga Fellow, she has enriched her connection to Indian classical dance and music, while her leadership roles in the Northeastern University Student Government Association and the Honors College DEI Committee highlight her commitment to fostering cultural inclusivity and community engagement.
Janani’s dedication extends beyond campus, as she actively advocates for global health and social justice through her involvement with organizations like UNICEF and her local Hindu temple. Her efforts include organizing COVID relief initiatives, advocating for legislative support, and mentoring youth in debate and community building. Janani’s experience in reviving the South Asian Student Association at her high school, coupled with her leadership in promoting inclusivity in debate, demonstrates her resilience and commitment to creating inclusive spaces. As a prospective candidate for the UNITE 2030 Youth Delegate Program, Janani is eager to combine her expertise in neuroscience, public health, and cultural exchange to drive meaningful change and collaborate with global peers on pressing global issues.”
