Milan Basoon, a 22-year-old graduate in Development and Environmental Studies from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, is a passionate advocate for environmental conservation and community development. From a young age, Milan has demonstrated a deep commitment to helping others, whether it was offering transportation to a classmate, providing blankets to children in need, or engaging in community service. This commitment has grown into a profound dedication to addressing global challenges, particularly those related to climate change, poverty, and sustainable development.
Currently on a 16,000 km road trip through Africa, Milan has been gaining firsthand experience of the environmental and social issues facing the continent. These travels have provided Milan with invaluable insights into the real-world impacts of climate change, deforestation, and poverty. Throughout these experiences, Milan has been inspired by the resilience of local communities and the power of collective action. Milan's academic background, coupled with practical experience from projects like the Future17 course, has equipped them with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to global discussions on sustainability.
