Blessing Sesay
"Blessing Sesay is a passionate advocate for equality and a dedicated changemaker focused on breaking down barriers that hinder equal opportunities. Hailing from the United Kingdom, Blessing's commitment to social justice is evident in her professional journey, where she played a key role in developing a national strategy to reduce the gender pay gap within mental health trusts. Her advocacy extends beyond the workplace, as she serves as a CSW68 Delegate for UN Women UK, contributing to global conversations on gender equality. Her dedication to empowering women is further demonstrated by organizing events such as an International Women’s Day celebration and a forthcoming fundraiser to support women and girls who have escaped domestic violence and forced marriages in Sierra Leone.
Blessing's journey has been shaped by personal adversity, including overcoming homelessness and chronic illness, which fueled her determination to break the cycle of poverty in her family. Through her involvement in local government, community organizations, and charities, Blessing has developed strong analytical and strategic planning skills, enabling her to create effective solutions and foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders. As a visionary leader, she is eager to join the Youth Delegate Program to empower young people globally, advocate for equality, and contribute to meaningful change that directly improves the lives of individuals and communities."
