Sofiia Tretiak
Sofia Tretiak is a seeker of constant challenge and knowledge. From her early high school years, she pursued opportunities beyond the classroom, developing a passion for youth involvement, social entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. Her journey includes being a part of the Future Leaders Exchange Program (FLEX), where she spent an academic year in the U.S., engaging in volunteer work, debates, and leadership roles. This experience deepened her commitment to community-building and inspired her to help Ukrainian students recognize the importance of seeking opportunities beyond school. Upon returning home, she became a FLEX City Representative, organizing over 15 youth events focused on leadership, civic engagement, and self-development. Sofia also worked with AIESEC to foster global connections and participated in the UNICEF-funded UPSHIFT program, implementing a social project to support internally displaced Ukrainian children. Currently a double-major in political science and psychology, Sofia continues to seek opportunities to learn, develop, and contribute to her community.
Sofia believes that youth are a fresh breath of hope and the driving force behind societal progress. She is dedicated to leveraging her knowledge to help others, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds, and strongly believes in the power of community-building. Through the Youth Delegate Program, she aims to collaborate with peers worldwide, advance her leadership skills, and engage in meaningful discussions about sustainable development goals (SDGs). Sofia's commitment to quality education and reducing inequality is evident through her work with the NGO "Shidnyi Menti," mentoring vulnerable adolescents, and her participation in the UNICEF-funded UPSHIFT Program. She views the mission of UNITE 2030 as a call to embrace the role of a changemaker and work within a community to achieve shared goals. Sofia resonates with the values of leadership, unity, and action, believing that change is essential to achieve sustainable goals and create a better future for all.”
