Aditi Bang
Aditi Bang is a dedicated Biomedical Engineering student at Georgia Tech with a strong passion for addressing healthcare inequities, particularly in maternal and pediatric health. Her academic journey has been driven by a desire to engineer solutions that make healthcare more accessible to underserved communities. This commitment was exemplified in a recent project where she and her team developed an affordable, constant monitoring medical device prototype aimed at reducing maternal mortality in Georgia's rural counties, where many lack adequate OB-GYN services. Aditi's engineering background and her aspiration to become a physician uniquely position her to bridge the gap between medical device innovation and patient care, ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity for well-being.
Aditi's passion for healthcare stems from her family's experiences with healthcare challenges in India. Her maternal grandfather's untimely death due to a lack of hospital services and her paternal grandmother's spinal injury from a car accident shaped her understanding of the importance of perseverance and resilience. These values, instilled in her by her parents, who overcame their own hardships to succeed in the United States, have fueled her determination to pursue a career as an OB-GYN physician and an entrepreneur in the medical device industry. Throughout high school and into her college years, Aditi has actively engaged in advocacy and research, working with nonprofits to promote healthcare accessibility and maternal health legislation. Her journey is a testament to her unwavering commitment to making a lasting impact on the world of healthcare.
